Entering its 9th year, the Publix Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon has established itself as a premier long distance event appealing to elite runners, wheelchair athletes, recreational runners and walkers alike. ******The Life Time Run Finish Line Challenge****** The LTR Finish Line Challenge was conceived to create a weekend of fitness and fun for Life Time Run Finish Line Training members from around the country. While centered on the Publix Georgia Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K, the weekend will also feature a pre-race LTR dinner, opportunities to explore local attractions, meet new friends or to just kick back, relax, and enjoy the spring sunshine. The marathon, half marathon, and 5k will feature a friendly competition on both an individual and club basis for all participating LTR members. After crossing the Finish Line, LTR members are invited to gather in a “members only” hospitality tent to refuel and reunite with friends. All athletes participating in a LTR Training Program are eligible to participate in the Challenge. Spring in the city brings blooms to azaleas, dogwoods, and a variety of flowers along with mild temperatures. The race starts and finishes in beautiful Centennial Olympic Park. The course includes historic sites (the Martin Luther King, Jr. Historic Site, The Carter Center, and Piedmont Park), college campuses (Georgia State University, Agnes Scott College, Emory University, and Georgia Institute of Technology), and in-town neighborhoods ranging from hip and funky to stately historic mansions. Cheer Zones, 19 Hydration Stations and 7 Food Stations along the course are filled with volunteers and spectators from neighborhoods, businesses, and charity fundraising groups. The Centennial Park start/finish location is within easy walking distance of downtown hotels. This creates a hassle free race day experience.
