Global Dance says
A folkloric dance from northern India, modified slightly for stage. “Ghumar”, roughly meaning “to spin”, is danced by Rajasthani women at weddings. While the movements can vary from tribe to tribe, the song and gestures always tell the story of a girl who refuses to marry her family's choice of husband, begging instead to be married to the man she loves. Enjoy this celebration of young love and finding your voice!

Northside Tribe & the Atlanta SEEDs girls will perform this piece at TribalCon on Feb. 19 or 20. TribalCon registration of at least one day is required to perform there. Performance is not required to take the workshop & other performance opportunities will become available.
