High Museum Tour (And Brunch Before!)

Join Columbia alum and High Museum Coordinator of Museum Interpretation Virginia Sweeney CC’10 as we explore The High’s retrospective of work by Wifredo Lam, a preeminent artist of Cuban, African and Asian descent and one of the Surrealist movement's most influential figures. Wifredo Lam: Imagining New Worlds will feature more than 40 paintings and a selection of drawings, prints and ephemera by the internationally renowned, Cuban-born artist. You may also stroll through two solo exhibitions by leading contemporary Americans: Brooklyn based Jose Parla and Atlanta based Fahamu Pecou. Photography exhibitions by Gordon Parks and Helen Levitt are also on view. Additionally, it is Art in Bloom weekend which features exotic and imaginative floral interpretations of select works from the High’s permanent collection.
