Hollaback! Atlanta is organizing a number of activities for International Anti-Street Harassment Week 2015, running Sunday, April 12 through Sunday, April 19. These events will work to educate, create open and safe environments for sharing and discussion, inspire, and fight back against street harassment in alignment with Hollaback’s mission as a crowdsourced initiative to end street harassment. Join Hollaback! Atlanta as we close out the week with a march through Atlanta.

The march incorporates local artist and Holla!ATL Creative Director Jessica Caldas’ sculptural piece Four Letter Word, to be carried by a group of volunteers who will carry them around the city. The march will take place throughout midtown and downtown and utilize the spaces of various Marta stations as well as the street.

In preparation for the march, Caldas will be coordinating chalk-based intervention pieces at various MARTA locations based on Holla!ATL’s MARTA Street Harassment survey responses. A call for volunteers will be issued for these projects and the survey can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1dxCUdFY4VFzxMmEdkG51wfLAc4pyN5g0eOZbTLvqwGU/viewform?c=0&w=1

March participants should meet at Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery at 88 Forsyth Street between noon and one. We'll be chalking the streets then and will begin the March promptly at 1 pm! Volunteers will lead the way!!!
