Hot! Exploration In Contemporary Fiber Arts says
This workshop is an introduction to heat-activated processes for contemporary embroidery. You'll experiment with painted adhesives, metallic foiling, household irons, soldering irons, hand stitching, free-motion embroidery, and a variety of novelty fibers. You'll learn dozens of ways to handle the materials, many of which are applicable to other media, expecially mixed-media collage, and you'll leave with a unique, professionally-mattted finished project. Join us to learn this fun, fast, and very rewarding and creative process. The possibilities are endless!

Susan Lenz uses needle and thread for self-expression, reflecting her passion for historic buildings, stained glass windows, and the colors and eco-friendly ideals of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, a 20th century Austrian artist and architect. She has a BA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies and is a professional-level member of the Studio Art Quilt Associates. Her work is regularly accepted into national and international juried exhibitions, and she has both taught and had solo exhibitions throughout the US.
