This Monday - learn how to make a metal pendant for that special someone in your life!

We will be learning some basic jewelry techniques, including piercing (cutting out negative shapes in metal), drilling, how to use a jeweler’s saw, filing and sanding, as well as different finishes like hammered finish, stamping, and chasing (such as letters to make words on your art).

This is a 3 hour class, with the first 30 minutes-hour dedicated to learning about the tools, safety, and demonstrations of the techniques. The remaining 2-2.5 hours are for students to apply the techniques to their own designs, and create a final product! The instructor will be providing one-on-one assistance as needed with students on their projects.

This is a beginner level class with no prior experience required. Students will also receive a handout with the notes we will be covering in the class, which they can add to during the demonstration and also use at home if they want to make more pieces after the class. Students will need to come prepared with some idea of what design they would like to make in their pendant. Think about silhouettes and open spaces you might want to create within a shape.
