Having been a mainstay of the Northeast jam circuit since 2006, Jimkata’s refined electro-rock sound is one of a band that has found its voice after years of experimentation. It’s more indie rock than jam, and more 90?s electronica than modern day EDM; yet the five-piece appeals to each of these audiences. In the spirit of LCD Soundsystem, MGMT and Talking Heads, Jimkata’s relevant, quotable lyrics create moods not just for fleeting moments, but for the lifestyle of an entire generation. Following the release of their first live record 10 More Songs! (2013), Jimkata released their third studio EP and sixth official release Feel In Light on 3.4.14. Recorded with Die Digital producer Jocko Randall at his MoreSound Studios in Syracuse, NY Feel In Light represents the continued evolution of this modern rock band’s sound – one which is simpler in essence – exploring themes of love, triumph and appreciating second chances in life. A staple of the festival circuit from the Rockies to the Atlantic, Jimkata has appeared every where from Gathering of The Vibes to Summer Camp, Snow Ball, Catskill Chill and Mountain Jam.
