Why YOGA? There is overwhelming evidence from numerous studies – both qualitative and quantitative – that demonstrates that the practice of yoga can provide enormous benefit to children – positively impacting academic performance, discipline, attendance and improved attitudes about themselves. Yoga provides two things children desperately need: physical fitness and emotional nourishment. It provides children with the skills to be calm, compassionate, strong and resilient.

Why COOKING? Learning to cook helps kids to learn about nutrition and healthy eating. It boosts their self esteem. Kids will be more apt to eat what they make. Perhaps it is the enthusiasm of creating something themselves, but they will be more likely to eat whatever they had a hand in making. Kids learn real lessons in science, language, math and creativity. Cooking will help reinforce all these subjects! Cooking teaches them planning and making choices. Kids cooking activities are a great way to express themselves and enjoy their creations

Why IMPROV? While it’s important to learn multiplication tables and the history, it is equally critical to learn self-expression and communication skills to become successful and productive adults. Learning improv helps to “re-train” the brain to actively listen, communicate verbally and non-verbally, be open to ideas, respond quickly in the moment, use imagination, collaborate, effectively use emotions, be more engaging, be flexible to change and be more hyperaware of what’s going on around us.
