Starting from real vinyl records in 2009, she has mastered the foundation of mixing. Her style is music that makes people dance ranging from dirty basslines, funky melodies, crispy snare drums and soul groovin’ tunes. Moejo started her love for music being a dancer at a young age, then found herself on the dancefloor at local nightclubs. Realizing she needed more than the weekend ritual dance music, the local record store became her sanctuary. Fate seamed tto intervene shortly thereafter as a pair of technic 1200’s was made readily available. Moejo has played along with Djs like Icey, BabyAnne, Plump DJs, Rick West, Ak 1200, John B, Hive, Huda Hudia, Mk Ultra and a few others. Moejo loves the broken beat, as she also enjoys fusing house, hip hop and pop music. Dj Moejo has chosen to stay with the tradition that the pioneers of Djing started by using technic turntables rather than other DJ gadgets. She feels that this is a lost art which should be passed down to future generations. Her passion for music and drive to bring a different sound into the airways for her listeners makes Dj Moejo favorable and she is sure to bring that sound to your town. ~~~~~~~~DJ MoMo <3~~~~~~~~ Bass bass booty bounce; these are the stylish sounds of DJ MoMo AKA Joana D. Growing up surrounded by musicians of all types, many keynote local Atlanta DJ’s turned MoMo on to the tables at 21. She found her passion for electro and electro house and channeled that energy on to the turntables. Inspired by artists such as Steve Aoki, DJ Dan and Dada Life, MoMo has learned to rock a crowd with great music and incredible energy. With the help of many DJs in the Atlanta underground, MoMo has perfected her skills to bring the right kind of energy to any party. One of MoMo’s more unique talents is bringing a variety of music, such as indie and rap, into her set. Her ability to transition smoothly across such a diverse spectrum of genres means that there is always something for everyone. Whether you come for the music or to see one of Atlanta’s biggest up-and-coming female DJ’s, MoMo will take your experience at the club to a whole new level. DJ MoMo has had many great accomplishments during her career thus far. She has shared a stage with many incredible acts including Destroid, Adventure Club, Fedde Le Grand, Seven Lions, Rusko, Caspa, Minnesota and Paper Diamond. MoMo is a favorite on a local radio show called EDM Sound System on 91.1FM. She has played on the show numerous times as well as playing on many internet radio shows and podcasts. MoMo's DJ career has taken her all over the southeastern United States and she is looking to take her travels even further. ~~~~~~Astral Junkie~~~~~~ Astral Junkie (Amber Dean) is a neon space kitten from another dimension, landing on Earth to observe the dynamics and downfalls of the human experience. She believes that the transformative power of musical vibration, combined with sensory stimulation and ecstatic dance, can help humanity to let go of their fears and barriers between one another, developing an expanded awareness of their consciousness. Amber grew up listening to punk and darkwave, which influenced her toward getting her first guitar in 2004. It was also around that time that she discovered industrial and EBM music, which quickly became her greatest musical loves. Inspired by bands such as Skinny Puppy, Haujobb, Front 242, and Apoptygma Berzerk, she converged her childhood passion of computers and electronics with music and began experimenting with sound design and production under the name kei:automata. She also fell in love with the uplifting and emotive nature of progressive trance, leading her to attend her first rave in 2007 - the first official party thrown by Horrible Children, who would soon become her second family. It wasn't until around 2010, right as the electronica scene began its rapid reemergence from an underground niche into a household name, that learning to DJ piqued her curiosity. A few years later, she found herself a resident with Horrible Children, and played at a number of outdoor psytrance festivals around the southeast such as Equinox and Sacred Seed. In 2014, she joined with the new netlabel Padang Records as their USA representative to help spread the evolving sound of psy-tech. Today, she's working on a new blog and online community called Afterglow, intended to foster a healthier, more community-driven scene - a project 3 years in the making. Astral's sound ranges from high-energy psytrance, to hypnotic techno, to lush tribal ambient, to dark industrial-influenced IDM, to wonky fidget house. Many things can not be expressed with words alone - and sometimes the journey itself is the true destination. Music is as meditation. ~~~~~~Sarah Sativa~~~~~~ Freakstep Records, Atlast Clothing ~~~~High Kalliber~~~~ World of Drum and Bass ~~~~Mandy Thomas~~~~ ~~~~DJ Diana Engel~~~~ IndustReal Nation With extra support from: ~~~DJ gRAVEy~~~ Bass Family ATL ~~~'Noxious~~~ ~~~SycNasty~~~ AUG Squad Plus Brian Tedder hosting the chill room as always! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Kaleidoscape is a alcohol free + drug free environment
