About the Training: Our teacher training consists of a hands-on intensive (30 hours) that includes safety technique and training for teaching beginner level skills on aerial silks. Paper Doll Militia's program includes equal parts critical thinking, technique, and creativity with teaching aerial arts. This holistic approach to aerial instruction, emphasizes creating a well-rounded class setting and incorporates the company’s quintessential creative attention to the apparatus. The training also comes with Julianna Hane’s “Aerial Teacher’s Handbook”, which covers a broad range of topics included in the training. Interested in a full teacher training certification? We work with the Born to Fly Certification, a comprehensive program featuring live instruction and remote learning. Paper Doll Militia provides the live instruction and then partner with the makers of AerialDancing.com to bring you continuing education through online resources.

• A minimum of one year of aerial experience required
• Video: As part of the registration process you will need to provide a a video to demonstrate the following Level 1 skills

1 climb (both sides)
Footlock (not from the floor)
3 footlock skills of your choice
Straddle invert from a climb (without cheating!)

• Performative techniques, and expand the boundaries of “aerial arts”


PDM Teacher Training provides the opportunity to get fully certified in aerial instruction.

Our training is partnered with an organization based out of the United States called “Born to Fly.” After the student has completed the hands on training with us, they are then eligible for the full certification. This process includes practicum hours such as a remote teacher assessment program (all done online), skype mentorship meetings, online modules, and a ton of resources such as videos of teaching sequences and more!
