~ Making Every Dance Unique (as Leads AND Follows) ~
Being considered a "musical" dancer is about the highest praise we can receive as a social dancer. It is a quality sought out by leads and follows in every dance community.
The song establishes the base reality in which you, the dancer, animates your body. Don't be a Pattern Monkey who might as well be dancing to a metronome.
Using music and movement from Salsa, Bachata, Zouk, Tango, West Coast Swing, and Belly Dancing learn how to...
• Make even a basic step feel AMAZING
• Predict breaks and changes in the music
• Dynamically adapt your movement to fit the music
• Stay connected to your partner while improvising
* Be confident even when you have no idea whats happening
This workshop will led by two extremely accomplished and reputable social dancers who have a love for sharing their movement and dance brains.
~ STAY for Last Call Blues, immediately following ~
This workshop is designed to feed directly into Atlanta's monthly Blues dancing social, where you can do improvised partner dancing with your new acquaintances and using your new SUPERPOWERS (yes, that's what it will feel like).
There's a decent restaurant a very short walk from the studio. It has quick enough service to eat between the class and the social.
Feel free to bring a change of clothes. There's a spacious and clean bathroom at the studio.
