New Voice at Hungry Ear: Matthew Kahler

Georgia native Matthew Kahler brings his straight ahead,
singer-songwriter style to the stage at Hungry Ear for the first
time. With several musical collaborations and a personal camaraderie
with Shawn Mullins, including his latest release, Out of the Blue on
which Mullins performs, Matthew's sound, resonant with the style of
James Taylor and Al Green, with several stops in between, is sure to

"Matthew Kahler is among the great songwriters of our time. I've
known him and admired his gifts for over 10 years or so. He is
definitely Georgia's music at its best" --Shawn Mullins,

Matthew Kahler is a one-of-a-kind performer, and a longtime friend of
the Attic with an intense style that's part storyteller, part
guitarist, part percussionist, and part comedian. His performances
are always entertaining." --Eddie's Attic, Georgia

"Matthew is one of our favorite artists. We specialize in creativity
at Wiffledust. We love the talented but straight ahead singer
songwriters, and we love the quirky. Matthew is a combo. He's an
all-around showman, and his vitality is very refreshing. He is an
extremely talented performer in every respect." --Lisa Ferreri,
Wiffledust in Pennsylvania

Our favorite Jazz Trio returns:
Mark Tucker & Lori Perozzi

The Mark Tucker Trio with vocalist Lori Perozzi performs a swinging
blend of vocal and instrumental standards-with-a-twist as well as
original jazz tunes in the classic Blue-Note style.

The Mark Tucker Trio has been playing Jazz in the North Atlanta area
for over 5 years. The trio performs a blend of originals and
standards in the classic Bill Evans Trio style. The musicians in the
group (Terry Vinyard, Phil Bonpastore, Mark Tucker) have played in
NY, Miami and the Atlanta area for a number of years and have honed
their chops for the past few years playing small group and big band
dates all around the Atlanta area.

Lori Perozzi has a rich, mellow voice that has captivated her
audiences since she began singing professionally at age 19. She has
performed as a solo artist in clubs, restaurants and private venues
throughout the southeast, spending most of her time in the Atlanta
area. Lori's love of the standards and the soulful sound of the
torch singers strongly influenced her vocal style and led her to a
sound of her own.
