Opening Reception | Art Aids America says
The Zuckerman Museum of Art invites you to the opening of "Art AIDS America," the first major exhibit to explore how the AIDS crisis changed American art. Since the early 1980s, HIV and AIDS have touched nearly every American in some way and operated as an undeniable (though often unacknowledged) force in shaping politics, medicine, and culture. Originally curated by the Tacoma Art Museum in October 2015, the Zuckerman Museum of Art is the only Southern stop on its national tour.

"Art AIDS America" presents a range of artistic responses to AIDS, from the politically outspoken to the quietly mournful. Join us as we explore this story of resilience and beauty revealed through art, and the community that gathered to bring hope and change.
