Join us for the opening reception of "Gut Feelings," an exhibition of contemporary artists in whose work food, feeding, and cooking serve as representations of exchanged emotion.

Highlighting multimedia works from local and internationally-recognized artists, including Marilyn Minter, Michi Meko, and Jessica Stoller, "Gut Feelings" features over thirty works depicting food as a conduit for a wide range of relationships and as a site of intersectionality.

The opening event features live music and select contributors, including Michi Meko and food writer Von Diaz, and a concurrent opening of "EPIC: Selections from the SGCI Collection." This event is free + open to the public.

"Gut Feelings" featured artists include:

• Ilana Harris-Babou
• Saiman Chow
• How to Basic
• Jeremy Jacob
• Caitlin Keogh
• Michi Meko
• Marilyn Minter
• Ester Partegàs
• Chuck Ramirez
• Martha Rosler
• Tejal Shah
• Jessica Stoller

"Gut Feelings" is accompanied by a catalog including curator’s essay, artist information and images, and short commissioned texts by invited authors including a (sub)textual footnote intervention by artist Erik Benjamins. Text contributors include Staci Bu Shea, Von Diaz, Michael Twitty, and Mick Wilson.
