"Twists: Cleansing and Churning"
We have all experienced times of sluggishness and stagnation. In yoga, twisting poses have a cleansing and churning effect on the abdominal organs and associated glands and help restore range of motion in the spine. In this class, we use standing, seated and supine twists, to squeeze, soak and drain blood through the tissues of the trunk. This class, for all levels of practitioners, has an energizing and rejuvenating effect on the entire body.

Pranayama and Relaxation
Friday, October 30, 6:00pm-8:00pm – $45
Pranayama is an essential practice of Hatha Yoga that brings relaxation, clarity, focus, and renewed energy. It is the doorway from asana into meditation (the seat of silence). We will explore respiration of the breath as well as its coloration of patterns. This course induces different states of awareness through principles of posture and various forms of classic pranayama. Through this complete practice and dharana (focus and concentration) the yogi experiences the rise of knowledge, harmony, and peace within.

A woman’s body is unique. It is marked by transitions through life’s phases and hormone cycles. For many women these transitions invite the opportunity to adapt our yoga practice in support of cultivating harmony and vitality in our lives. This course invites women to deepen their connection to the essential bio-rhythms unique to a woman, and lays the groundwork for turning inward in order to attune to our body’s needs and to nourish the body and spirit with appropriate yoga practices and nutritional guidelines. By taking time inwardly, we can bring greater sensitivity and balance to the physiological changes that occur within, and learn how to unlock the spirit, while building greater resilience and fortitude. In this course you will connect on a deeper level to your body, consciously align with your body’s changing rhythms, experience new facets of your innate female power and learn key nutritional practices that support and nourish your body’s cycle. Our Women’s Health Workshops are designed to support women through all life phases by weaving together asana, pranayama, meditation and nutrition. Surya and Linda’s collaborative teaching style is inspired by compassion in the present moment thus, the focus of each workshop is unique and different. We invite you to nourish your spirit, attune to your body’s needs and relax into a new, profound journey.
