Reading Race I says
To become more capable witnesses and competent allies we first need internal learning and reflection. Join us for the first of three small group book discussions, starting with NATIONAL BOOK AWARD winner and PULITZER PRIZE finalist Ta-Nehisi Coates’s “Between the World and Me.”

Monday, August 29 6-8pm “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates
Monday, September 26 6-8pm “America’s Original Sin” by Jim Wallis
Tuesday, October 25 6-8pm “The New Jim Crow” by Michelle Alexander

Before each discussion, participants will be required to purchase and to have read the book in advance. We encourage you to attend all three discussions, but we welcome you to attend as many as you are able. Small group discussions will be led by trained lay facilitators and each evening will open and close with your clergy in the Covenant Chapel.
