Record Release With T Lang And Kris Pilcher says
Flight of Swallows enjoyed the process of creating structured improvisations for their 2016 piece "CORONA BOREALIS" so much that it moved into the studio to record 4 out of the 7 pieces developed for live performance, plus one that was the result of a wacky chase dream. The core musicians for Flight of Swallows that recorded were: Deisha Millar(cello), George Kotler-Wallace(guitars, pedals, knobs), Renee Nelson (harp, toy piano) and Terry Boling (singing saw) with support from Ra Flautista (flute), Stephanie Francesca Kohler (Harmonium, Beats), and Christopher Salmon (fiddle). Movers who inspired the music’s development were: Sadie Hawkins, A.m. Spexet, Kristina Guede, Tony Schott, Stephanie Francesca Kohler and Lola Lesoleil. Despite performing regularly with a broad range of collaborators since its inception in 2009, Flight of Swallows’ aural work hadn’t been professionally documented until CORONA BOREALIS.

To celebrate the release of the CORONA BOREALIS recording, Flight of Swallows will be creating a sound and movement environment inside the backspace of 7Stages on Sunday, February 19th. Expect for this event to flow like a gallery performance event rather than a typical concert; improvised performances will happen organically throughout the evening. Featured collaborators for the event include T Lang Atl and Kris Pilcher, who will be joining the musicians and movers who contributed to the development and live productions of CORONA BOREALIS. The group will also be celebrating the lives of Flight of Swallows collaborators Terry Boling, Jacosa Nao Kato, and Sacha Dzuba.
