The event creator says
My name is Jessica Elaine Blinkhorn. I am a local artist and instructor at Georgia Perimeter College and am wheelchair dependent. I am LIVING with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a form of Muscular Dystrophy, which causes severe muscle weakness, nerve damage, and a shortened life expectancy. I am unable to walk or lift my arms but work extremely hard towards living an independent life.

On September 25th, 2015 at 12:00pm I will take my place at the steps of the HIGH Museum and the Arts Center MARTA Station and deliver a speech. I will voice to those who will listen the discrimination I have faced, the mistreatment I have faced for all of those who are going through what I am. I will then continue to roll in my wheelchair from the Arts Center Station to Lakewood, where I currently reside. I will stop at every MARTA station in route and put a sign in place that describes my struggle, upload a quick video that reviews the conditions of the sidewalk, and post a GoFundMe link to raise funds for an accessible van so I will not continue to support a system that, quite frankly, does not care! This is not a call to action but a call to observe one persons struggle as a representative for an underrepresented population.

This is a performance art piece. The performance, aptly called, "ROLL HARD" is intended to be a social commentary on the mistreatment of the disabled passenger who would rather put themselves at risk navigating their mode of transport through the horribly inaccessible urban terrain of Atlanta than use a service that refuses to hear their voice, acknowledge their frustrations, and transport them safely. ADA did not stop discrimination and lead to total equality. It momentarily silenced a group that was satisfied by shear acknowledgement and with a small place in the equation.

I am seeking traveling companions and people to video/live stream/photograph. I will need two escorts at all times to insure my safety and assist me will traveling my route. The traveling companions will change at every check point.
