A Cork in the Road says
I'm super excited about introducing more people to these incredible wines from South Africa! On April 21st we will be joined by Gene Azurmendi, owner of Catamarca Imports, who imports the wonderful Babylonstoren wines to the store.

Tasting fee is $15 to taste 6 wines and includes light bites. Customers will receive 15% off of featured wines while attending the tasting.

We will taste current releases of 6 wines...

• Chenin Blanc
• Chardonnay
• Rosé of Mourvedre
• Babel (entry-level Bordeaux blend)
• Shiraz
• Nebukadnesar (flagship Bordeaux blend - my favorite!)

The Babylonstoren winery is a Cape Dutch farm dating back to 1692. They first released wines under the Babylonstoren label in 2011. Babylonstoren is located between Stellenbosch and Paarl in the Western Cape of South Africa. The vineyards are on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain. They produce 13 different grape varieties with the highest vines at 600m above sea level.

The wines are exemplified by the Babylonstoren logo, which consists of the pipe, representing the farmer; the flower, representing the garden; and the bird, representing nature. It’s a combination of the very essence of Babylonstoren: Keeping things as simple and as true to the earth as possible.

Symposium Wines is located at 265 Ponce de Leon Ave. At the corner of Ponce de Leon and Penn Ave. the store actually faces Penn Ave. There is FREE PARKING in the Camden garage, also on Penn Ave (see map below).

See you there!
