We are looking for MEN of all ages who are interested in working as a Standardized Patient. (Professional acting experience is not required, but it is certainly a plus.)

What is a Standardized Patient?
---An individual who realistically portrays symptoms of a patient in a one-on-one recorded and timed scenario with students. Invasive procedures are NEVER performed. Standard heart/lung/abdomen exams are the most typical experiences for our actors.

What is the purpose of this program?
---The goal of our program is to offer real-life patient/doctor interactions for students to build communication and bedside manner skills.

Our standardized patients, or SPs, are highly trained to:
1) Recall extensive medical history related to your character
2) Realistically portray a character who exudes symptoms of
diseases or altered mental state
3) Initiate a feedback discussion with students and faculty to
offer insight for a student on what it felt like to be their
patient.

To reserve a spot you MUST e-mail Gina Shannon at: gmshann@emory.edu

Please bring with you to the audition:
+Headshot or recent photo

***Callbacks will be Sept. 29 & 30th and you MUST be available for all dates to be considered.***
