June’s performer is Crooked Wits. The members of Crooked Wits originally met in Clinton, South Carolina at Presbyterian College. Stevie was a quarterback, Maggie was a soccer star, and Spencer…well, he sang in the choir. While we all came from different backgrounds, we quickly bonded over our love for music. They played together as much as they could for anyone who’d listen and during the summers we all lived in Black Mountain, North Carolina. It was there, in the mountains of Western North Carolina, where Crooked Wits truly got its start. Influences of the band include Van Morrison, Dave Matthews Band, and Old Crow Medicine Show.
