"Artist as migrant"

An intimate conversation with Japanese artist Eiko about ways in which identity, both self and culturally-defined, influence her creative process. Eiko will also share film excerpts of her latest work in Fukushima, and talk about Body in Places as a nomadic project whose fingers have slowly moved to a more political activist role.

Named "Best Dance" by the New York Times 2016 Year in Review, Eiko is a MacArthur Genuis and Guggenheim Fellow. Her work has been presented world-wide, including Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Whitney Museum, and the Walker Center.

"Artist as Migrant" is part of Eiko's Tanz Farm residency that includes multiple performance installations in Midtown Atlanta, and delicious movement SHOPS at the Goat Farm.
