Designed to explore functional movement and healing, The Yoga Joint: Hip to be Square is a therapeutic workshop offered to address the “four corners” of our torso: hips and shoulders. As the largest and most mobile ball and socket joints in the body, they often suffer from imbalance and instability, limiting our range of motion, affecting our movement patterns, and potentially undermining our sense of well-being.
This 3-hour interactive and experiential workshop offers a functional explanation and exploration of the muscles that support our hips and shoulders; postures and techniques to improve mobility, strength, and flexibility; and how to effectively incorporate yoga practices for embodiment and self-awareness.
Workshop is safe for all levels and may be particularly helpful for people with shoulder or hip chronic pain, dysfunction, or non-acute injury. The information shared during this time is also beneficial for persons diagnosed with various forms of joint disease; autoimmune disorders; anyone who wants to learn more about anatomy and movement; yoga teachers, and others in the medical and health fields who are interested in yoga’s healing and balancing techniques.
Includes anatomy discussion and experiential movement, a full therapeutic yoga practice, informational handouts, Q&A session, and a take home yoga practice to continue on your own after the workshop is over.
$40 if you register by 3/8; $45 thereafter.
