Wine Tasting Babylonstoren Of South Africa says
Thursday, April 21, we will taste wines from South Africa. We will be joined by Gene Azurmendi, owner of Catamarca Imports. Gene imports our wonderful Babylonstoren wines that are a customer favorite in the store.

We will taste current releases of
Chenin Blanc
Babel (entry-level Bordeaux blend)
Nebukadnesar (flagship Bordeaux blend).

Babylonstoren is a Cape Dutch farm dating back to 1692. They first released wines under the Babylonstoren label in 2011. Babylonstoren is located between Stellenbosch and Paarl in the Western Cape of South Africa. The vineyards are on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain. There are 72 hectares under vine and Babylonstoren produces 13 different grape varieties with the highest vines at 600m above sea level.

The wines are exemplified by the Babylonstoren logo, which consists of the pipe, representing the farmer; the flower, representing the garden; and the bird, representing nature. It’s a combination of the very essence of Babylonstoren, that is keeping things as simple and as true to the earth as possible.

Tasting fee is $15 and includes light bites. Customers will receive 15% off of featured wines while attending the tasting.
