UUCA - Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta says
Come join us for as we celebrate community with a Tex-Mex dinner sponsored by Friends of Dresden Elementary School. On the menu: tamales by Ysabel Hernandez, rice and beans by Lupe Santoyo, beef and chicken burritos/tostadas by Amy-Holmes Chavez, homemade guacamole by Jazmin Garrido and much more! Dessert will be a variety of ice cream and popsicles.

Homework help and playground time will be available to all kids, starting at 5:00 pm. After dinner activities start at 7pm and include board games for all ages, playground time, sidewalk chalking and for adults interested in the future of DeKalb County Schools – we’ll have a discussion group about the SPOLST spending/redistricting proposal. There will also be a vespers service at 7pm lead by Rebecca Kaye and an Intermediate Ukulele Gathering (guitars and other instruments also welcomed) starting at 7:30.

Dinner is served from 6:15 pm until 7:00 pm. The cost is $8/adult; $6/children 4 and above; FREE for children 3 and under; $20 max/family. No one will be turned away for inability to pay. All before and after dinner activities are free. Everyone welcomed!

We hope to see you there!
Proceeds from the dinner will go directly towards supporting the kids and teachers at Dresden Elementary School. Located in Chamblee near UUCA, this DeKalb school is made up of 1,000 students and is significantly over-crowded with numerous trailers. Dresden students represent over 20 countries and the poverty level at the school is significant.
