Bondi Beach, Sydney Opera House and the Great Barrier Reef rank as the three most paparazzied spots in the country

If you didn’t 'gram it, did you even go? Whether you’re a fan or not, there’s no denying that social media is one of the biggest sources of wanderlust today. You can quite literally curate a whole trip just by swiping and scrolling through other people’s snapshots on your phone. Chances are, you’ll want to share your pics too, and you won’t need a filter for these top 25 locations, which have just been revealed as the most Instagram-worthy destinations Down Under.
It comes as no surprise that Sydney’s Bondi Beach, arguably one of the world’s best, was the number one most Instagrammed location in the country, tallying more than 1.93 million posts. On any given day, this one-kilometre postcard stretch of sand buzzes with activity, drawing tourists and locals eager for a swim, a surf, a sandy-footed snack at Bondi Icebergs (which ranked 12th on the list), or the chance to snap a pic with Bondi’s legendary surf lifesavers.
Bondi Beach’s hashtag count nearly doubled that of Sydney’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Opera House, which claimed second place with 1.05 million posts. Together, they helped Sydney steal the crown as the ultimate city for Instagram-worthy moments, with other top ten appearances from the incredibly recognisable Harbour Bridge (683,400 posts), harbourside playground Darling Harbour (678,100 posts) and hipster eatery The Grounds of Alexandria (120,300 posts).
It turns out people can’t get enough of Australia’s natural beauty, with our nation's biggest landmarks rounding out the top ten, including the Great Barrier Reef (1,031,200 posts), Uluru (494,200 posts), the Twelve Apostles (266,500 posts), St Kilda Beach (221,900 posts) and the Whitsunday Islands (120,100 posts).
