Launched last year, the fiery, quirky and fabulous event brought in famous chefs and restaurants known for their spicy food to cook for those who live for the heat.

Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok just had to do it again by bringing back this highly-anticipated food event—and this time, it’s going to happen on April 27. But not to worry, the second edition of Chilli Fest will be held at the hip hotel’s lush Urban Oasis outdoor space, which will provide a cool respite where the food can’t.

This sophomore attempt will see a bigger and, dare we say it, spicier line-up of multicultural foods and activities brought on by some of the city’s most renowned restaurants, including the Michelin-recognized Inddee, Restaurant Coda Bangkok, and Saneh Jaan. The prolific Thai Chef Ton from Le Du will bring the top-notch dishes from his ThepNakorn restaurant to serve in this event as well.

Also dipping their fingers into the spicy sauce are new participants like Vaso, Aromkwan, Canes, Lady GooGoo, and many more.

The famous Chef Haikal Johari will also make a comeback to Bangkok’s food scene with the opening of his new Restaurant Avant at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok. You’ll get to try his modern European cuisine with savory Asian twists at Chilli Fest this year too!

The special highlight of this year’s Chilli Fest is an exclusive dinner by the one-and-only Chef Ian Kittichai, the famed Thai chef and cooking show judge. He will be preparing a five-course tasting menu inspired by dining experiences from his restaurants around the world. The dinner is priced at B2,999++ per person (including entry to Chilli Fest) and can be complemented with a premium beverage pairing option for an additional B1,199++ per person.

More fun awaits! You can enter a chilli-eating competition, where you’re challenged to gobble up hot chilli peppers with Scoville Heat Units (SHU) measuring up to 2,400,000. (For reference, a regular Thai pepper measures at 50,000 to 100,000 SHU). If that sounds a bit too much for you, you can always explore other (milder) options at the Chilli Market and shop for delicious products from spice purveyors like That Daeng Sauce and Firepower Hot Sauces. You can even get a chilli tattoo by California Ink Bangkok for free!

Be on the lookout for the most hip merch designed by Akkara Bangkok, including t-shirt, tote bag, bucket hat and cap that you can exclusively find at Chilli Fest.

Chilli Fest 2024 will open its doors from 14:00 to 21:00 on April 27 at Urban Oasis, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok (B250 entry fee, inclusive of one complimentary drink). Early bird tickets are now available here. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Sati Foundation. For more information, visit this link or call 0 2056 9999.
