Peru is a well-known global destination for a wide range of superfoods. Whether it's fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and fish—all of these nutritionally-intense foodstuffs can be found all over the country.

Among a big list of products from Peru, pomegranates are surely one of the country's pride. Little may you know that pomegranates are grouped in a berry family, and there are tons of benefits of this very fruit more than just its lip-smacking taste. One pomegranate is found to contain a high amount of antioxidants and health benefits.

While you may be familiar with pomegranate-flavored drinks, the seeds of this fruit can be used in many ways. Some use them to add more texture to a salad or to sprinkle a yogurt parfait, while some go all the way by having the seeds as a snack.

From February to June is the period when pomegranates are in full bloom, and it's quite a shame to know that hopping all the way to Peru to get the taste of Peruvian pomegranates is borderline impossible. That's why Superfoods Peru is here to help you better explore Peruvian superfoods. Every month, there will be the launch of the Food Ticket series and more cool content that includes a virtual tour to some of the city's best restaurants that will show you how to cook with superfoods.

Stay tuned for more to come at Superfoods Peru.
