This experience is not for acrophobiacs. Dinner in the Sky, the Belgium-originating pop-up, where elegantly dressed diners are strapped to and lifted by a crane to feast on a swanky meal high above the city, has finally landed in the city. The al fresco (to put it mildly) restaurant will be uplifting the expectations of Bangkok’s most adventurous gourmands from 20 December until the end of February 2018.

Named one of the world’s most unusual dining experiences, Dinner in the Sky features aerial tables that can cater to 22 guests, each of whom are served a four-course dinner prepared by Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit’s executive chef Gaetano Palumbo. As expected, prices are also steep. A meal plus a one-hour ride on the 200-ton European-made telescopic boom crane will set you back B4,990 on weekdays and B5,390 on weekends. Dinners are offered twice a day, at 18:00 and 19:30.

Dinner in the Sky operates in 45 countries worldwide, including France, USA, Japan and Denmark and is guaranteed by German safety standards. Cameras and phones are definitely allowed—it’s not every day that you get the chance to take a selfie while chowing down on a gourmet meal hundreds of feet up in the air.

But just a warning: make sure to visit the toilet before taking off.
