Summer is finally here, and the weather is making us scream for a scoop of delicious ice cream. Enter Harvest, the refined Harvard Square stalwart with one of the best patios in the Hub. You can beat the heat at a special new pop up called The Ice Cream Cart that will be serving up scoops every Sunday this summer.

If you’ve dined at Harvest (and if you haven’t, you really should), you know the dessert menu is incredibly creative and packed with all kinds of surprising sweet flavors, so expectations are high for their ice cream. The ice cream will be house made by the pastry team, and will highlight local and seasonal ingredients, aligning with Harvest’s decades long commitment to farm-to-table dining.

What ice cream flavors are available?

New flavors will be available every week, kicking off this week with: Espresso chip ice cream using La Colombe espresso, kettle corn ice cream, watermelon hibiscus sorbet, bergamot sage sorbet and berry swirl frozen yogurt using Harry’s Berries.

The ice cream will be served in house made waffle cones, or in cups and there will be a variety of rotating toppings to choose from (fingers crossed for some jimmies!).

Want to know what flavors are on deck on any given week? Harvest will be posting new flavors and more information on their Instagram account, or you can sign up for their newsletter.

Anyone can try Harvest’s ice cream!

The best part about this pop up? You don’t have to have a full meal to enjoy the cold treat, anyone can walk in. That’s right, you can enjoy a sweet, housemade ice cream cone from one of the most celebrated restaurants around without committing to a full meal.

What’s Harvest like?

Harvest’s garden terrace spots are some of the most coveted in Harvard Square, and beyond ice cream, you’ll find  a sophisticated approach to New England dining; locally-sourced seafood and meats, plus homemade pastas, are all meticulously and imaginatively prepared. They’ve just debuted their summer menu, with specials like a Garden Ribbon Tart with Westfield Farm chèvre, roasted tomato, grilled summer vegetables, rosemary pâte brisée, and lemony herb salad.

Where and when can I get ice cream from Harvest?

The Ice Cream Cart will be available Sundays from 1 – 4pm on the patio all summer. You can find more info at HarvestCambridge.com. And if this gets you on an ice cream kick check out our list of our other favorite ice cream spots around Boston!
