Free Friday Flicks at the Hatch Shell are back this summer and the first movie plays tonight!

WBZ NewsRadio and the Boston Department of Conservation & Recreation are putting on this event series every Friday evening until the end of August.

One of Boston’s quintessential summertime activities, Free Friday Flicks is finally back after its pandemic hiatus. Enjoy this fun, family-friendly activity under the stars each Friday night in front of the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. Seating is first come first serve, so come early with your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics for a great evening out in the city.

Movies will start at sundown, but there is plenty to do before that as well. Host Brian Antonelli, of WBZ and the Mac & Gu Podcast, will be kicking off each evening at 6pm with trivia and giveaways. Antonelli commented, "I’m really excited to continue this tradition and look forward to seven weeks of fun for the whole family."

Film schedule:

July 15: Encanto
July 22: Frozen 2
July 29: Onward
August 5: Trolls: World Tour
August 12: Uncharted
August 19: Sing 2
August 26: Cruella

Take advantage of public transportation when getting to the Hatch Shell, there is no parking available onsite. The nearest T stops are Arlington on the Green Line and Charles/MGH on the Red Line and keep in mind that these events are weather dependent.
