Michael Schlow's illustrious career has led him to his adopted hometown's buzziest culinary destination, Time Out Market Boston. The James Beard Award winner oversees a pair of tasty concepts — Michael Schlow's Italian Kitchen and Monti Roman Pizzeria — that are only available at the Market.
"We're super excited to be participating in Time Out Market," says Schlow. "Time Out is such a unique and special brand; the building is the perfect location, especially given how the historic Fenway neighborhood is synonymous with Boston."
The talented Schlow has dabbled in a variety of cuisine types, but to many of his most loyal fans he's best known for his work with Italian fare.
"We're obsessed with all things Italian and this gives us a unique opportunity to do some of our old favorites while also providing some new things we've been dying to try out, like Roman Pizza," says Schlow.
Fans of Schlow's dearly-departed Via Matta can keep an eye out for occasional specials at Michael Schlow's.
"I'm excited to be bringing back our Tagliatelle Bolognese that I used to offer at Via Matta years ago," explains Schlow. "The dish is inspired from my time in Emilia-Romagna and the recipe is exactly as I learned it in Bologna; it's simple, authentic, and our guests have been asking me to offer it at Time Out Market."
Curious types looking to try the decorated chef's newest culinary concept can opt for one of Monti's tantalizing pies or slices.
"I can't wait to bring this unique pizza to the Fenway neighborhood," says Schlow. "The bottom of the crust is slightly charred, crispy, while the pizza is still airy and slightly chewy."
