Your guide to the best experiences across the Mother City this Friday, 14 November, to Sunday, 16 November.

Greetings in the name of Tyla and the Springboks flying the Mzansi flag. Not Mariah, though. I rebuke you and all things Sephora/Christmas-related. That’s a conversation for another time.
On another note, this weekend is jam-packed with events catering to every taste. Mandisi Dyantyis is introducing fans to his new album at the District Six Homecoming Centre. That should be something to look forward to.
Another weekend, another Christmas market. This time it’s the TygerValley Festive Market. One of my personal favourites because there’s such a wide selection of handcrafted goods to choose from, you’re bound to find that one special gift.
Oh, and the Gipsy Kings will be performing live at De Grendel Wine Estate. It’s about time the north gets some action.
Afro-soul-jazz artist Mandisi Dyantyis brings his unique sound to the Star Theatre with his seven-piece band. The intimate show will introduce Dyantyis fans to his new album, Intlambululo. The cherry on the cake? Most of the songs have never been performed in front of a live audience before. So you get first dibs.
The first chapter of Botanik’s new series, Fantasia is a true reflection of rave culture. For all those die-hard ravers out there, this is one jol you won’t want to miss. Wear your brightest ensemble and bring out the glow sticks because it’s going to be lit.
Central Library Cape Town will be hosting the Queer Book Club on Saturday morning. Even if you’re not a member of the library, join the group for a coffee and a social. The club gathers in the Art Library section. Follow the stairs up to the mezzanine floor.
Already his 104th original stage production, Nataniël presents Catch Me, Love. Capturing stories through the medium of music, the consummate performer never misses the mark. Please note, no under-14s allowed.
Go shorty, it's your birthday! Pop into the Mother City's most popular market. The Time Out Market Cape Town is usually a whole vibe, but even more so this weekend as they celebrate two years of bringing the best of the city together under one roof.
Bulking up for summer? Instead of getting the unsolicited mansplaining spiel, join other like-minded women on the same journey as you. The Gym Girl Club will host a protein-themed brunch where they’ll share their best protein tips and tricks, from favourite products to everyday hacks. Your ticket includes a hot drink and a protein flapjack stack.

The Clipper Race is a record-breaking 40,000 nautical mile race around the world on a 70-foot ocean racing yacht. Lucky for us, the V&A Waterfront is a firm favourite on the Clipper Race route. Bring the little ones along and head down to the marina to check out the boats, which will be open to the public.
Bringing together more than 100 visionaries, the WomenIN Festival is South Africa’s premier women empowerment event. Prepare for two days of inspiration, connection, and growth.
The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa presents its inaugural Tastes of the Valley event, celebrating Constantia’s finest wines, perfectly paired with the hotel’s delectable cuisine. The wine tasting will unfold in Cellars-Hohenort’s gardens, offering guests the opportunity to explore the wines of six of the neighbouring Constantia Valley wine estates in one location.
Time Out Tip: Only 100 tickets are available to the adults-only event. So book your ticket before it’s sold out and use e-hailing services because we’re all about responsible fun.
The countdown to the 14th edition of A Taste of Belgium has begun. A partnership between the Belgian Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Belgium in Cape Town, the annual celebration is a vibrant day filled with authentic flavours and lots of festive cheer for the kiddies.

The annual TygerValley Festive Market opens its doors on Saturday. Santa’s helpers are on standby to get you in the festive mood. Not that you need much coaxing. With the entire lower level adorned in red, white, and gold, it’ll be hard not to, unless you’re Scrooge.
The legendary Gipsy Kings, by Diego Baliardo, bring their trademark flamenco rumba music to De Grendel Wine Estate for an unforgettable afternoon. Sing along to old-time favourites like ‘Bamboleo’ and ‘Volare.’ Come dressed in your best flamenco-inspired outfit.
Petrol heads, rejoice! The final round of the 2025 Power Series has arrived. Presented by Lime Property Management in association with Smile 90.4 FM, witness almost 200 competitors fight for bragging rights in 18 races for cars and motorcycles, reaching speeds of up to 270km/h.
Trust Tannie Evita to name her show Kaktus. The woman loves talking kuk(tus), even if it’s presented as comedy. And that’s why we love her, because she’s unapologetically honest, forcing us through the looking glass, warts and all.
Say goodbye to the week with a visit to the Boschendal Friday Night Market. From food vendors to live music, the only thing you need to bring is a picnic blanket. Please note: Due to high demand, walk-ins will be subject to capacity. Secure your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
South Africa and England go head-to-head as international test match polo returns to Val de Vie Estate for the first time in 15 years. Local band GoodLuck will be on hand to provide live entertainment. Come for the polo, stay for the gourmet food and drinks.
