1. Alan Committie – AV-A-LAUGH-TA

Alan Committie’s annual year-end debrief is back at Theatre on the Bay, this time under the fantastically daft title of AV-A-LAUGH-TA. Expect his signature wordplay, physical comedy and convoluted flip-chart logic as he tackles everything from Home Affairs queues and conspiracy theories to life admin and the general madness that was 2025. It’s a fast-paced and fiercely clever antidote to festive-season fatigue.

Want to know where Alan hangs out in Cape Town? Check out his 'Local Intel'!

Where: Theatre on the Bay, Camps Bay

When: From 17 December 2025 – 7 February 2026

Tickets: R200 - R300 via Webtickets

2. Marc Lottering – Colleen The Musical

Colleen the Cashier (one of Marc Lottering’s many alter-egos) from Cape Flats Superette finally gets her own musical. Set in a local supermarket where love and life get scanned and bagged, Lottering’s latest blends original songs, a live band and some sharp social commentary. Expect a heart-warming rom-com packed with Cape Town in-jokes and Cap Flats charm.

When: From 4 December 2025 – 7 February

Tickets: R200–R380 via Webtickets

3. Schalk Bezuidenhout – Krismis Bonanza

This quirky comic swaps ugly jerseys for full festive chaos in Krismis Bonanza, a Christmas variety show promising jokes funnier than any Christmas cracker. The line-up is under wraps, but expect more ‘koekies and milk’ gags than Santa can handle, all wrapped up in 90 minutes of stand-up and seasonal silliness. No under-16s.

Local Intel: Cape Town's best bars, according to Schalk!

4. David Kau – 27 Years of Comedy

For one night only, David Kau celebrates 27 years behind the mic with a career-spanning stand-up special in District Six. Expect sharp political jabs, social commentary, callbacks to classic lines and a few surprise guests on the night. This one is likely to sell out fast.

When: Friday 19 December 2025, 8pm

Tickets: R200 - R500 via Webtickets

5. Rob van Vuuren – Live at Ground Culture

Comedy chameleon Rob van Vuuren brings his beautifully unhinged stand-up routine to this intimate 60-seater room in Obs. From creating classic characters like Twakkie and Namaste Bae, Van Vuuren is one of the funniest guys in Cape Town. This is the one for comedy fans who like it close-up and chaotic. No under-16s

Where: Ground Culture Café, 170 Lower Main Rd, Observatory

When: Thursday 11 December 2025, 8pm

Tickets: R200 via Quicket

6. Nik Rabinowitz – Geriatric Millennial

Quick-talking, sharp-shooting Nik Rabinowitz mines the chaos of middle age for big laughs in this high-speed stand-up special about dodgy knees, doom-scrolling and trying to stay woke when you mostly just want a nap. Expect sharp Jewish-Cape-Town humour, apocalyptic asides and a comic stuck between his analogue childhood and digital adulthood.

Where: Baxter Concert Hall, Baxter Theatre Centre, Rondebosch

When: 2–20 December 2025

Tickets: R225 - R300 via Webtickets
