Franz Ferdinand are heading back to Portugal, this time to play at Cascais’ Hipódromo Manuel Possolo, where they’ll make their Ageas Cooljazz debut on 25 July 2026. The Scottish band are bringing along The Human Fear, released in 2025, for a show that will, of course, pack in modern classics like “Take Me Out” and “This Fire”.
Hailing from Glasgow and known for blending indie rock, dance-punk and a streak of British humour, Franz Ferdinand became an instant reference point with their self-titled debut in 2004, which propelled them onto the global stage. Since then, they’ve racked up nine albums, a shelf of awards – including the Mercury Music Prize and several NME Awards – and a rock-solid reputation as a live act. Their most recent stop in Portugal was earlier this year at Paredes de Coura.
With this announcement, Franz Ferdinand join David Byrne (July 14), Jamiroquai (July 18), Diana Krall (July 22) and Scissor Sisters (July 29) in yet another stacked edition of the festival. Tickets go on sale on November 20 at 10.00.
