Garrafeira Nacional has just opened a new shop in Cascais, located inside the Cidadela, in the Forte de Nossa Senhora da Luz. Despite almost a hundred years of history, this expansion not only reinforces the brand’s presence on Portuguese soil but also brings a few new features compared with its other spaces.

In front of the shop there is a terrace where you can sit down for a glass of wine or even open a bottle you have just bought, making the most of the atmosphere of the old fort (now baptised the Art District, with several art galleries and bookshops to explore) and its proximity to the sea. Another novelty is the bottle-cooling machine, designed for those who want to drink their wine straight away or take it home already at the right temperature. In less than ten minutes, a white wine can be ready to serve.

The new Garrafeira Nacional keeps its carefully curated selection and advisory service, but adds a more informal side, aimed at tasting on site. There are now five shops in total: three in Lisbon, one in Porto and, from now on, this new unit in Cascais.
