Cascais is about to transform into the European capital of motorcycling with the European H.O.G. Rally, the international gathering promoted by the legendary American brand Harley-Davidson and the Harley Owners Group. The event, now in its 32nd edition, takes place between 18 and 21 June and promises to bring thousands of enthusiasts, bikers, and visitors from various corners of Europe and the world to areas such as Cascais Bay, the Citadel, the Marina, and surrounding areas. This operation will require restrictions on road traffic.

The bustle has already been felt in the streets with the initial setup of structures, which started on 8 June and runs until the 16th, causing occasional disruptions. However, it is from Wednesday, 17 June, until the close of the rally on 21 June, that the main preventive closures will be felt.

The bans and full road closures will directly impact the heart of Cascais, affecting key routes such as the roundabout next to Jardim Visconde da Luz, Alameda dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra, Passeio Dom Luís I, Avenida Dom Carlos I, and Avenida da República—the latter up to the Comendador Joaquim Baraona Roundabout. Avenida Rei Humberto II de Itália will also be restricted from the junction with Rua Frei Nicolau de Oliveira, with access restricted exclusively to vehicles heading to the Marina.

The dismantling of infrastructure and subsequent clearing of the venue will extend from 22 to 24 June, a period during which there will still be heavy movement of lorries and heavy machinery, temporarily disrupting traffic.

Parade, Test Rides, and Music

The main disruption will take place on Saturday, 20 June, at 11:00, when the event's Official Parade begins. The motorbike procession will start from the Estoril Circuit and will pass through several vital arteries in the municipalities of Cascais and Oeiras, causing temporary road closures and momentary blocks as it passes, which will be progressively lifted by the authorities as soon as safety permits.

Regarding the festival programme, the schedule is extensive and kicks off on Thursday, 18 June, with the official opening of the venue, the trade fairs, and the first test rides of the brand's new models, ending the evening with musical performances from 17:00 until midnight. On Friday, 19 June, the exhibition and catering areas will remain fully operational, joined by guided tourist tours around the region and the ever-popular Custom Bike Show, a custom motorcycle competition. Saturday is reserved for the grand morning parade and closing concerts on the main stage, with festivities wrapping up on Sunday, 21 June, as the venue is gradually dismantled.
