Who says we have to wait until December to celebrate Christmas? The festive season kicks off in Cascais this Saturday, November 22, and runs all the way through to January 4 2026, promising to light up the town centre with the perfect mix of tradition, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

One of the season’s highlights is the Cascais Christmas Parade, winding its way from Parque Marechal Carmona to Cascais Bay, spreading colour, music, and magical characters for around 60 minutes. The parade takes place on November 22, 23, 29, and 30, then from December 1–28, and finally on 3 and 4 of January 2026.

For safety reasons, the road will be fully closed from 4.30 to 6.00, stretching from the Jardim Visconde da Luz roundabout to the João Paulo II roundabout (right in front of the Cascais Cultural Centre). Priority vehicles and residents or hotel guests will still have access whenever possible.”

Beyond the parade, Cascais invites visitors to enjoy other festive experiences. Highlights include the grand Cascais Xmas Village at Parque Marechal Carmona and the Christmas lights that once again brighten the town centre, creating a magical, festive atmosphere all the way to Cascais Bay.

You can also explore the Christmas Market by the sea, with stalls along the Bay offering handmade products and seasonal treats. This is also where you’ll find the two-tiered Venetian Carousel, operating daily from 12.00 to midnight – except on December 24 (closing at 20.00), December 25 (open only from 12.00 to 14.00) and December 31 (open from 14.00 to 02.00 on January 1st).

The programme also features charitable initiatives, live performances, and a competition for the best Christmas shop windows and traditional “bolo-rei” cakes.
