Loyle Carner is the latest act confirmed for Ageas CoolJazz, taking place at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo in Cascais on 15 July. The British artist, making his debut at this festival, is known for the direct and emotional way he approaches personal themes such as fatherhood and mental health, with a sound that blends rap and jazz.
The musician took his first steps with the EP A Little Late in 2014, and began to gain prominence with his debut album Yesterday’s Gone, released in 2017. This was followed by Not Waving, but Drowning in 2019, and hugo in 2022, which propelled him even further on the international circuit, thanks in large part to its impact on the Colours platform. In June 2025 he released Hopefully!, the new record that continues to shape his aesthetic between British-rooted rap and the jazz foundations that have always underpinned his work.
With nominations for both the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards, this marks the artist’s third visit to Portugal, after performances at festivals such as NOS Alive in 2019, Vodafone Paredes de Coura in 2023 and MEO Kalorama in 2024.
The 2026 edition of Ageas Cool Jazz once again takes over the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo with a number of big-name acts, including David Byrne (14 July), Jamiroquai (18), Diana Krall (22), Franz Ferdinand (25) and Scissor Sisters (29).
Hipódromo Manuel Possolo (Cascais). 1–31 July. €35–€45.
