Do you like to eat well and in generous portions? The ideal restaurant for you has just opened its doors in Cascais (and in an iconic spot, where the historic Bijou pastry shop stood for decades).

Takumi, located next to Cascais Bay, presents itself as a new Asian dining proposal that combines traditional Chinese and Japanese cuisines with a modern and relaxed service model. The concept is based on an all-you-can-eat menu served directly at the table, moving away from the traditional buffet format to prioritize fresh ingredients, rigorous execution, and aesthetic care in the presentation of each dish.

“We are a new company, but we already have a lot of experience. Our concept is to bring fresh, high-quality food to our customers, presenting our culture to both Portuguese and international audiences to introduce them to Asian gastronomy,” explained Jéssica Chen, co-owner and manager of Takumi.

The menu stands out for its eclectic offerings, catering to different tastes with everything from cold sushi and sashimi creations to hot traditional Chinese dishes. “We stand out from other sushi rodízios because we offer oysters and red prawns, which are more special ingredients,” highlights Jéssica. The selection of cold items also includes gunkan, nigiri, salmon tataki, salmon carpaccio, salmon tacos (a modern take on the classic temaki), and rolls made with black rice, such as the dragon roll.

In the hot section, the menu spans fried appetizers, teppan-grilled items, and traditional Chinese dishes served with a table-side heating system. “These are traditional, high-quality Chinese dishes, but we serve them in smaller portions so guests can sample a bit of everything and eat as much as they like.” The dining experience also includes classic appetizers like miso soup, hot and sour soup, and fried rice (xau-xau), comforting dishes like orange duck, and desserts combining international options with traditional Asian sweets, such as mochi. To complement the meal, the restaurant offers a selection of signature drinks, cocktails, and sake.

Setting itself apart from other establishments of its kind, Takumi features unlimited ordering, ensuring that every dish is made to order and served quickly. The team’s goal is to provide a high-quality experience at an affordable price, within an environment of refined aesthetics and cozy lighting, tailored for both the local community and visitors to the region.

The restaurant is open every day for lunch (12:00–15:30) and dinner (19:00–23:00). From Monday to Friday at lunch, the menu costs €20.90 for adults, rising to €27.90 for dinner service. On weekends and holidays, the adult menu rate is €27.90 all day. For children up to 9 years old, the price is set at €12.50 across all periods. Drinks and desserts are charged separately.
