Since March 11th, the modernization works on the Cascais Line have been causing disruptions for those who use it. However, for the next two Sundays – that is, on April 28th and May 5th – train circulation will be completely suspended for a few hours.

According to the Cascais Municipality, "a complete suspension of train circulation between Oeiras and Cascais is planned from 05:30 to 08:40." This will occur in the early hours of the day, on a day of rest for a large part of the population. Nevertheless, it will affect those who rely on the railway both to commute to work and to return from evenings out in Lisbon.

The closure of this section of the line is planned and pre-announced by Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP). "Given the need to ensure railway service and minimize impacts on train schedules, work will mainly take place at night on weekdays and weekends," reads the IP website, where new train schedules and alternative transportation options are also available.
