Chicago has traditionally been an accepting place for self-taught artists, ranging from the enigmatic canvases of Henry Darger to the bottle-cap-covered creations of Mr. Imagination. "Chicago Calling" explores the common themes of outsider art and seeks to understand why the city was so receptive and supportive of these unconventional artists, displaying the works of 10 Chicago artists culled from 30 private collections.
