Courtesy of the collection of Andra and Irwin Press Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (French, 1864–1901), "La Troupe de Mlle Eglantine", 1896.

Brightly colored posters filled the streets of Paris during the late 19th century, setting the stage for French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who created a five-foot tall, color advertisement for Le Moulin Rouge in 1981. A new exhibition at the Block explores Lautrec's career, displaying public works and private lithographs that solidified his status as a modern artist.
