"Railroaders: Jack Delano's Homefront Photography"

Museums, History
The Chicago History Museum exhibit of photographer Jack Delano's railroad industry shots from wartime Chicago begins April 5.

In 1942, photographer Jack Delano documented America's railroads and rail workers as the nation entered World War II. Of the 3000 images that he captured, almost two-thirds were taken in the U.S.'s rail hub—Chicago. "Railroaders" displays some of Delano's best photos from this period, depicting bustling stations, workers in the yard and vintage train car interiors.
