While you were waiting in line at ROOF, the Renaissance Hotel across the street opened its own swank spot. Bar Novo might not have the rooftop glitz, and the menu (Kobe sliders, prime-rib nachos) reads like a predictable list of upscale bar food, but the cocktails alone—fruity but fresh, strong but balanced—make this place as worthy a destination as its neighbor.
