This Japanese hideaway is tucked beneath sushiDOKKU, and you have to enter through the back alley door. Inside, you'll find small dishes, Japanese snacks and Japanese draft beer, plus local favorites as well.
One of my favorite dishes here was the "Chef's Choice Vegetable Maki," in which the chef makes you a custom maki roll based on your preferences. Each of my 8 maki pieces came as a different flavor, including cucumber, avocado, daikon, onion, sweet potato and mushroom. The loaded maki is topped with fried tempura, doused in soy and spicy sauces, creating a flavorful and delicious crunch with an elevated feel and beautiful plating. I love the speakeasy ambiance of Booze Box - dim lights, red lanterns, and chill hip hop music. It's a great venue for a casual night out.
