Succeeding in the bar biz often requires hooch hucksterism, like daily drink specials and karaoke. This small, steps-from-the-Loop bar isn’t immune, but at the end of the workday, the crowd of lawyers, law students and traders applauds the basics: decent prices, no-frills munchies and a killer soundtrack (think old Bowie) played loud enough to appreciate but low enough to talk over.
