Any cringing at the name (which pays homage to owner Chris Owens’s great-grandfather’s business) will cease after entering this pale wood-toned pub, which is clean as a whistle and friendlier than a cult. The game plays on TV, neighborhood couples dig into burgers, and the younger crowd steels itself for the night with gin and tonics served in mason jars.

I really enjoyed a recent experience at Racine Plumbing. After seeing a friend post about an amazing dessert he had there, I knew I had to try it out if ever in the area. The front bar where we sat definitely felt a bit like a grubby bar kinda vibe - I imagine it to be a pretty decent place to grab some drinks and watch a game or something (if that's your thing). The drink menu had a good number of options - but we were there for food. Everything our table ordered was great: wings (both boneless and bone-in), fried brussels sprouts (new favorite!), walnut apple salad, mac & cheese and burgers. We finished with the "Cookie Monster Balls" (deep fried cookie dough) which was as wonderful as assumed. I'll definitely go back next time I'm looking for a good bar menu!
