Time Out says
Perhaps one of Chicago's most exclusive speakeasies, Room 13 is accessible to members and guests of the Old Chicago Inn, where the bar is housed. Make friends with someone who's in the know and obey the strict dress code (cocktail or business casual) before saddling up to the bar for classic cocktails that are crafted from recipes that date back to the Jazz Age. Hotel guests can opt to experience Room 13's cocktail flight, a tasting of four tipples along with historical commentary from your bartender.

The only way into this bar is with a membership or if you have a room at the Old Chicago Inn, but I was lucky enough to get in during Chicago Open House. The drinks are very classic cocktails, and the place is quite small. There's a piano in the back and you can enter through the alley.
Looks like an awesome spot. Wasn't able to go in due to the fact that you need membership and a password to get in. We'll make sure to be prepared for the next time.
I was very fortunate to be invited to a private birthday party at Room 13 - otherwise I'm not sure how I'd score a password (without reserving a room upstairs at the Old Chicago Inn). The space feels like you've been transported to an older time thanks to an impeccable attention to detail in decor and drink. The staff was friendly, the drinks were strong, and the feeling of exclusivity is pretty cool. I definitely recommend... if you can get in.
