The original location of this two-bar enterprise stands out as a classy neighborhood joint in a sleepy residential block, with a gorgeous arched and mirrored wooden bar, gold-painted tin ceilings, bubbling Lava lamps and an alt-rock-heavy jukebox. The beer selection is fantastic, and snacks like hand-dipped cheese curds and burgers round out the menu.

Small Bar is an Avondale gem, and possible one of the best bars in Chicago. It's cozy and relaxing, with a huge beer selection and an awesome selection of pub grub. It seems to draw folks from the neighborhood, giving it a really charming vibe.
I loved Small Bar the first time I went. The crowded dive bar is relaxed to say the least, with darts, plenty of options for great beer (local and even options like Evil Twin), and a full bar. It's a little off the beaten path in Logan Square, which also makes it a nice escape.
